Do not compare Indian awards with Oscars says Abhishek

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan feels it is futile for Indian media to compare Indian film award functions to a ceremony like Oscars because here most such functions are organised by the media houses themselves.

"Interesting to see read a lot of the media comparing the Oscars to our Indian awards. Most seem to think that we need to improve, raise our standards... Wait a minute... Aren't most of OUR awards run and held by media houses," Abhishek wrote on Twitter.

"Take the initiative, we shall follow," he added, taking a dig at mediapersons, who hailed Sunday night's 84th Academy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles.

Some lauded the ceremony for its transparent system of winner selection, while some celebrities like Mini Mathur are impressed with the right titles to the awards.

"It's just so correct that an original screenplay n adapted screenplay gets judged in separate categories," tweeted Mini.

Have Ash-Abhi named their daughter 'Abhilasha'?

As per BIG Cinemas who have posted on Facebook that Abhi and Aish have reportedly named their kid Abhilasha. Is it real name or it could be the suggestion for them. As the news for name of Beti 'B' is not declared.

Bachchan family recently revealed that they will choose the name very soon for Beti 'B'.

Beti B's name to be announced soon

Bollywood's star couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have finally zeroed in on a name for their adorable newborn daughter.

The name apparently begins with 'A', but the formal announcement will be made only after grand father Amitabh Bachchan will return home on being discharged from the hospital.

However, there would be no 'naamkaran' ceremony for naming the baby, as the family doesn't believe in any such rituals.

Abhishek on dad's health: 'Mard ko dard nahin hota'

Well Junior Bachchan says his father Amitabh's dialogue "Mard ko dard nahi hota" from the movie "Mard" couldn't be more relevant than now, when the ailing megastar is keeping his spirits high despite battling serious health problems.

Abhishek posted on his tweet Thursday night that "Morning spent with pa at hospital, then at NASCOMM in the afternoon. Back to hospital where, despite his pain, SrBachchan is cracking jokes. Guess he said it true in his film 'mard ko dard nahin hota!' Legend,"

Currently Sr Bachchan Amitabh is admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries Saturday.

The 69 year old is still in pain. Though the Bachchan family and hospital authorities are tightlipped about the further procedures, sources have informed IANS that Big B is likely to go under the knife again Friday.

Amitabh indicated through his Thursday night blog post that more doctors were called in for consultation on his condition, but for now, he has chosen to keep details of his condition to himself. However, he is finding solace in the company of his wife, Jaya, children - Abhishek and Shweta, and friends.

Abhishek returns Rajkumar Santoshi's Rs 50 lakh signing amount

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has just returned the signing amount of 50 lakh rupees to the director Rajkumar Santoshi for the film Ladies and Gentlemen.

Rajkumar Santoshi who had signed both Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for his upcoming movie but the news of ash's pregnancy has revealed, and they could not carry on.

Santoshi accepted the news and wished the couple back then. But the filmmaker turned up at the Bachchan house recently to ask for the signing amount he had given to the couple.

Abhishek immediately returned the amount to Santoshi which he has gave him at the time of signing the movie.
