As we all know that Rani's maximum family members were in film industry. Her father is Ram Mukherjee who is director. Her mother is Krishna who have worked as playback singer. Her brother is Raja mukherjee who is film producer. Here maternal aunt is Debashree Roy who was popular Bengali actress and her cousin Kajol is also one of the most popular bollywood actress.
Rani Graduated from Maneckjee Cooper High School in Juhu. After completion of study she got some offers from film producers. And yes she has decided to enter in one of the most successful field film industry.
Rani has started her film career from one bengali film Biyer Phool. And than she has started her film cateer in bollywood from Raja Ki Aayegi Barat (1996 year). The film was flop but her acting was superb. Then she got another movie and that was Mahendi and it was another flop movie. But after that she two most successful films Ghulam and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and both films were super hit. Because of her nice acting she her first filmfare award for best supporting actress category.
Rani won the filmfare award for three consecutive years from 2004 to 2006. And total she has got six filmfare awards.
